His hoof is healed and he is sound..  I live just 9 miles away in Hodgenville, KY.

My grandson Chris hopped up on Dar and Richard (owner of Double R Stables) got out his camera.  Dar promptly turned his butt to it.  I attempted to turn Dar around using my hat for a halter, but no dice...Dar needed to be paid off in sugar.  LOL  These photos were taken by Richard 17, November 2012.

pretty katy

Here's Katy, my small Blue Front Amazon Parrot.  Katy is a rescue and ~23 years old, young for a parrot.
Katy's usual saying is "OK" and a loud wolf whistle.
A good site for parrot lovers is http://www.birdtricks.com/

merlinthegreatmerlin

This is Merlin, my first rescue parrot.  A friend of mine called and asked if I wanted a parrot because her friend rescued about 20 parrots from a breeder.  This bird rescuer friend was overloaded with birds.  We walked into his large garage and as I passed the first carrier I heard "Help me, aw come on HELP ME"  It was Merlin and I was hooked.  Although I looked at all of the available parrots I couldn't leave without Merlin.  He didn't have a tag so I don't really know his age.  I had Merlin for about a year before I got Katy.  Merlin is a large African Timneh and whistled and talked quite frequently.  Merlin died suddenly one night a few months ago.  It looked as though he flew into the side of his cage during a night fright to which African parrots are prone.  Merlin had arthritis in one leg and a broken wing on that same side, I kept a warm perch for him in his cage.  He's quite a character and I think he's still around.  Katy will argue with a space on the corner of his cage just like she did when he was there physically.  He used to hit me with peanut shells and there are times when I get hit with a peanut shell now and it isn't Katy.  See you around the galaxy Merlin.  You're sure missed at home, thank you for the years of companionship.

In school tournament both Chris and I won 3 more trophies each.  At the regional tournament in Erlinger, KY

Notice my home is not complete without a few horse statues.
